"A Sky Full of Ships is designed to be an easy, fast moving set of rules for large scifi fleet actions. Playable with as few ships per side as you like, or as many ships as you own, these generic rules will allow large games to be played to a finish, on an average sized gaming table, within several hours.  The generic nature of the rules will allow you to play in whatever setting you prefer, using any starship miniatures from any background at all. Invent as much or as little of your own universe, or borrow from the scifi background of your choice. These rules will work equally well for either."

2/19/2008 - Dan Abbott has let me know that The Hardpoint Games website has been updated with a small 'errata' page for the ASFoS fleet combat rules.

6/15/2006 - The copies of A Sky Full of Ships from the initial print run are long sold and hard to find, so now you can get a copy of ASFoS as a downloadable PDF file from RPGnow.com.  This file is the same as the printed version, a 40 page book with ship design, basic movement and combat rules, optional rules such as electronic warfare, special weapons and technological levels, as well as scenarios, sample fleets and more.

11/5/2004 - You can now buy A Sky Full of Ships from Xtreme Hobby, the makers of the Cold Navy line of ship miniatures.  Xtreme Hobby accepts PayPal and ships world wide.

10/1/2004 - Here is the big announcement from Dan Abbott:

Hardpoint Games is pleased to announce that the fast playing, generic scifi rules, "A Sky Full of Ships" will be available for purchase the third week of October.

ASFoS is designed to be an easy, fast moving set of rules for large scifi fleet actions. These rules will work equally well for either.

This 40 page book will include most of the rules already known to its fans, polished up and expanded, along with new rules never seen before.  Sample races, ships, scenarios, and sheets of counters are included so that play can begin immediately.  Price - a mere $15.00 Canadian.

I will pass along more information on where you can purchase ASFoS when I get it.

10/1/2001 - Formerly known as "Dan's Fast and Simple Sci-Fi Fleet Rules" this game has been updated recently with rules for interceptors and bombers, and a printer friendly version, there is even a support site,  A Sky Full of Ships: An Online Resource full of ship designs.

1/17/2001 - Inspired by Full Thrust and the B5 Fleet Action minis, Dan Abbott wanted to game even larger battles than Full Thrust could handle, so he took a bit of Full Thrust and added some General Quarters (WW2 Naval rules) and ended up with simplified rules so huge fleet battles could be played quickly and easily.
