Also
check out FGG's
new Rants section which has lots of
good info on what they are up to and
were products are (Armada
is at the printers). Back on
4/17 they posted this info on Armada:
"Throughout
the last three months, we have been
playtesting and developing Twilight
Imperium: Armada,
our 2nd generation follow-up to the
game that we designed for Red
Alert
and licensed to Last
Unicorn Games
(a company that was later purchased by
Wizards of the Coast).
At the time that we has finished our
stage of the development, this was my
favorite of the three disk-games that
we had designed to this date. As Red
Alert was
published, we noted a few things that
we certainly wished could be done
differently, and when WOTC
discontinued Red
Alert,
we decided to re-publish the game in
our own epic sci-fi setting (that of
our best-selling Twilight
Imperium
board game). We have playtested the
new version extensively and added new
feautures to the system such as
"Squadrons" (fighters and
bombers) and a whole new initiative
system. The crew and technology mix
will also be different from RA."
