From Spartan Games

This is an action packed game of starship combat set within the boundaries of the Firestorm Universe. War has erupted in the space surrounding the Terran Worlds and nothing looks set to stop the Invaders. Race after race has been plunged into the abyss of the conflict and no one race has so far been able to stop the relentless invaders. Now the Terran Alliance has been forced to react with the full capability of its military machine.

You will control powerful fleets of frigates, cruisers, battleships, fighter carriers and transport ships as you fight as a Terran commander, an Invading fleet commander or one of the outlying star systems that has allied itself with the Terrans to combat the threat.

Our models are primarily from resin with some white metal components. A full colour rule book supports the models, along with decks of game cards, templates, tokens, historical background documents and much, much more.

8/14/2010 - Since the last update, the Relthosa fleet is now available including escorts and a heavy cruiser.  Coming out later this month are a military base along with gun/torpedo, point defense, and communication satellites.  A Marauder faction is coming and there was a competition to give them a background.

5/29/2010 - The Heavy Cruisers are now available to pre-order but will not ship until June 21st.  A new fleet, the Directorate is now available to order and will also ship on June 21st.  Spartan Games also released a preview of of the Terran Space Station. Also Litko has released a bunch of accessories for Firestorm Armada including templates, tokens, wing markers, mine markers, flight stands, cloaked tokens, and arrow flight stands. 4/20/2010 - Escorts for all the fleets have been released along with civilian ships.  Coming soon are heavy cruiser miniatures for each fleet.

 

11/21/2009 - Spartan Games has posted lots of new pictures and background info about Firestorm Armada on their Firestorm page.  Included are a Fast Play Rules sheet, rulebook samples, wallpapers, starter fleet assembly guides, cut out counters, and first looks at 2 new fleets, the Directorate and the Relthoza.

11/7/2009 - A release announcement from Spartan:

Following in the footsteps of our incredibly successful Uncharted Seas fantasy naval game, Firestorm Armada builds on the foundations of this game to bring you easy to master rules, superb multi-part models (with spaceships up to 170mm long) and exciting action in a war torn area of space we call the Storm Zone."

At launch Firestorm Armada brings you four exciting fleets to begin your space combat: the Dindrenzi Federation, Terram Alliance, Aquan Prime and Sorylian Collective. Supporting these models is a 96 page full colour rule book, punch out A4 tokens and templates and our first four upgrade ships - a Fighter Carrier for each fleet.

10/3/2009 - No new word on a release date for Firestorm Armada as Spartan Games is still busy supporting their other games and tweaking FA.

4/24/2009 - Spartan Games has pushed Firestorm Armada back to a June release so they can spend May supporting their fantasy naval game and better prepare for the initial release of this game.

2/22/2009 - According to the forums on the Spartan Games website, they are busy doing the final playtesting for Firestorm: Armada so it looks like they will get this game into production soon.

Lucky for us, they were using actual miniatures of the first 4 fleets to be released and they did take pictures so we can all see them.

7/2/2008 - More info about Firestorm: Armada is now available.  The game is due out in late October 2008 and they plan to star selling fleets by September.  More images of the sculpts for the miniatures have been posted here.
