GenCon 2000 - Thursday

Here are a few shots of the miniatures gaming hall, just to give you some idea of the size of the room we are in, plus it could get 1/3rd larger if they wanted by removing one of the false walls.

A fantasy siege battle of a nicely done castle.

This was an interesting battle using only LEGO's for figures and for all the terrain.

A Warmachine battle.

A couple shots from a 40K game.

Now we come to the Full Thrust Admiral's Tourney I ran this year.

Wait a minute, some one else got the camera!  That is me in the center explaining the rules for the tournament.

Here is a shot of the set up table with the control sheets for the fleets and the minis I had brought so all the players had a choice on what fleet of minis they wanted to use

A few shots from the first couple of rounds

One of the Semi-Finals

Coming in 4th Place - Adam Stein

In 3rd Place - Craig Scott.

Craig had never played Full Thrust before the Tournament, and due to a series of lucky occurrences, ended up in 3rd.

The finals....

Coming 2nd was Todd Jolley

The Grand Admiral for 2003 is Sindre Cools Berg who came all the way from Norway to attend GenCon.  We gave him a lot more stuff to bring back home.

Sunday and no more games to run.  Now I could get back into the dealers hall and get some sales while seeing some celebrities.

Here is Sean Astin, Samwise from LOTR signing away.  That is Robin Akin Downs from Babylon 5 in the background with the hat and the facial hair.

A demo game of WizKids new larger scale clicky game, Shadowrun: Duels

An interesting display at a booth.

Brad Dourif who played Grima Wormtongue in The Two Towers looking like he just got back from shooting a western.  Sorry about the had, things like that happen with all the people around.  I do like Gollum looking over his shoulder though.

Yeah, there were people in costumes a the convention.

Testors is coming out with a new car battle game.  These are much larger than the HO-Matchbox scale cars and the weapons and armor are removable.

Ray Park (Darth Maul) was there with a lot of other people from the Star Wars universe.

And finally John Rhys-Davies, Gimli and the voice of Treebeard in LOTR as well as Sallah from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
